Hello friends!!! We painted that mural seven years ago and it has suffered some damage due to Utah`s drastic weather and the sun bleaching effect. Factories tell me rthat enamel can only last up to 5-7 years. We could restore it or paint over some parts of the wall, given that materials help and transportation could be provided. Let me know!!!

I really like the quietness of the neighborhood, in general, and the quick access I have to anything I need to do. However, what I DON'T like is all the barking dogs!!!
I get up at 4:30 a.m. to get ready for work. During the warm months I leave my window cracked at night to allow my bedroom to cool off so I can sleep. Then I hear the dogs even louder. Sometimes I can't get to sleep until midnight, sometimes waking up several times a night. And no one seems to care, especially the dog owners. They bark all year long, all day and all night. IS THERE NOT A BARKING DOG ORDINANCE IN PROVO?!
With the recent outbreak of violence against barking dogs, it is my beilief, it stems from the barking dogs combined with their owners unwillingness to do anything about it. I don't blame them. I blame the owners, GET A BARK COLLAR ON THOSE BARKING DOGS!

The Board of Adjustment ruled against the Hoffeins, he can now take the matter to court and has 30 days to do so.

When we put the addition on our house, we called everyone involved to put the new cables underground and were told that we would have to do all the preliminary work ourselves--dig the trench, get the electrician to put in the conduit, etc. Then, and only then, would they come to put the wires underground although it looked like a circus! The first worker there would scratch his head in perplexity and say "I have to call my supervisor" who would then come and they would both scratch their heads. It was somewhat comical but more often than not exasperating as it kept draggin on. It was expensive but worth not having the endless wires and cables.

I had issues with many and low hanging cables in our first home in Maeser. I will put you on the agenda. I will also try to find a phone number for who to call about cable clutter.

Hi Tom,

I think this website is a great idea—thank you for taking the trouble to put it together.

I was wondering if any other residents of the Maeser Neighborhood had strong feelings about the blatant disregard for the aethetics of the neighborhood by the cable companies. I will come to the next neighborhood meeting with some pictures from some back yards. Why is it they very nicely bury the cables in other neighborhoods such as near the temple and in Orem, but in our neighborhood they are allowed to string cable after cable over our back yards. When the residents cancel their use of the cable, the old cables and the old boxes are never removed! It is an eyesore in a lot of areas and we need to do something about this. What is the law on this, and why is the process different in more affluent neighborhoods? Is there a different law for the rich?

I would love to hear other's comments on this, and if anyone knows if there is anything we can do about this matter.

In our section of the neighborhood, a great many of our anchor families have accessory apartments that were vital for them to be able to afford their houses in the first place. Therefore, I am against restricting the "owner occupied with accessory" ability in Maeser.
I agree that the law limiting creation of new duplexes in the late 1990's was needed, but it is not being effectively enforced. A new law would probably not help and might actually hurt our efforts to bring more anchor families in. It is true that houses will continue to sell at assessed prices to someone, but if there is no chance for an accessory apartment, the buyers will be either someone looking for more investment rental properties or someone very well-to-do who likes the charm of our downtown neighborhood. This would force a further widening of the divide between many poor renters and a few rich refurbishers, cutting out the middle class so vital to our neighborhood's health.
